Year 9 Outdoor Activity Day

October 1, 2014

The move to Year 9 is a big step for many girls; they may have just joined from a preparatory school, started to consider their GCSE options or entered their teenage years during the holidays. To allow the Year group to get to know each other, experience new activities and push the boundaries of their comfort zones we took them to Gwent Outdoor Activity Centres at Hilston Park and Gilwern. Here girls had the choice of three activities; Caving and Gorge-Walking, Canoeing on the Wye and High Ropes. Below are some excerpts of their day to give you a flavour of the experience.

Caving and Gorge-Walking
It was dark, cold and scary but really good fun. It’s something I would never normally do.

High Ropes
It was so much fun! I was really scared on the ‘Leap of Faith’ but we went as a pair so I had to do it and I am really proud I did!

Canoeing
The day featured lots of laughs and crashes. Mr Seaton made Mrs Friend capsize!
