Oxford German Olympiad Success

May 21, 2016

Monmouth School pupils have been successful in this year’s Oxford German Olympiad Deutscher Humor – nichts zum Lachen?, which focussed on the traditions of comedy and humour in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, with two of our Sixth Form pupils being rewarded for their entries.

Yeming’s short eGerman successssay in German about a joke, poem, book, film or event, explaining what makes it ‘funny’, was declared Highly Commended by the panel of judges.

Nick from New House, together with seven students from HMSG, produced a short comic film which was the runner up entry in its category. The successful team has been invited to the prize-giving ceremony in the Bodleian Library in June.

We are delighted for all the pupils and extremely proud of their achievements.
