HMSG Victorious in Haberdashers’ Netball & Cross-Country Tournament

April 20, 2015

The final day of the Lent term saw the U18, U15 and U13 netball teams, alongside the cross country team, make the long journey to Knights Academy for the annual Habs’ 7 competition.

The U13 and U15 events were tight contests, with the U13 team sealing their title with a final superb match against the hosts. The U15 team won all their matches, as did Knight’s Academy and the title was to be decided between those two schools in the final match of the tournament. A great display of grit and determination made it a close game, but on this occasion, Knight’s Academy just got the better of the team.

The U18 competition saw the team perform outstandingly well to take the title, with their closest match being a 30-11 win. Captain Holly shot superbly well and gained herself a fan club from the large number of spectators watching! The afternoon saw the cross country events take place and again HMSG dominated proceedings. Year 8 pupil Ellie won the junior race convincingly, whilst Year 9 Katherine did likewise in the Middle race. Superb performances from the rest of the team ensured HMSG won both competitions overall.
