HMSG Harpists perform at the Royal Albert Hall

November 28, 2016

Lisa (Year 11) and Diana, who left HMSG last year and is studying medicine at Imperial College, London, recently performed at the Music for Youth Proms at the Royal Albert Hall with Isca Linea Senior Strings (part of Gwent Music).  About the experience, Lisa writes:

“The orchestra rehearses once a month at Caerleon Comprehensive school and I am also a part of the Isca Linea Symphonia and Isca Linea Harp Ensemble. We were given the chance to play at the Albert Hall after performing at the national rounds of the Music for Youth Festival in Birmingham. At the Music for Youth proms we performed Chamber Symphony 110a Movements I, II and V by Shostakovich and then we performed, along with the other performers, a new version of Land of Hope and Glory arranged and conducted by Pete Letanka for the finale.”

Lisa certainly has been very busy recently, as her award-winning product, Zorbit, went on sale this week.  Balancing her music and entrepreneurial success with her GCSEs is a challenge but one which spurs this incredibly successful young woman on.  We wish her every success!
