IAPSGymnasts vaulted to victory in the finals of a national competition at the weekend.

The flexible team from Haberdashers’ Monmouth for Girls finished third place overall in the U13 Independent Schools Gymnastics Association 4 Piece National Finals on Sunday.

And one pupil, Eliza, was announced as the winner of the U13 age group at the event held in St Faith’s School, Cambridge.

Harriet, who is in Year 6 at Inglefield House, moved up an age group to compete with the girls and finished in second place within the squad.

Ceri Crawford, HMSG’s Head of PE, said: “The team had to complete two vaults, set floor and voluntary floor.

“For the first time, the HMSG team had their top scores on voluntary floor where Eliza scored 9/10. “The whole team put in fantastic performances and were calm and collected, not letting the nerves get the better of them.

“Harriet held her own wonderfully, finishing second in the HMSG team.

“The team finished in third place overall – which was outstanding. An excellent day’s work!”
