Year 12 Business Challenge – ‘The Apprentice’ comes to Monmouth!

On Friday, 24th June, Business Studies students from Year 12 took up the challenge to run two market stalls for the day at the local Monmouth market.

Students were spilt into two teams pledging to donate all their proceeds to their chosen charities: ‘A Slice of Heaven’ supporting LATCH and team ‘Gwlad’ supporting Tenovus.  Both teams worked really hard preparing, marketing and running their stalls. After an early morning start and a beautiful sunny day they jointly achieved sales of £247.64.  Overall the winning team ‘A Slice of Heaven’ raised an impressive £166.44 from selling cakes and second-hand books and ‘Gwlad’ raised a healthy £81.20 from selling Welsh cakes, Bara Brith and prints.

A huge thank you for everyone who helped and supported the two teams in making the day such a success:  Mrs Green (HMSG library), Mrs Anderton (MS library), Mrs Vickers (Home Economics), the Monmouth School Art Department, Mrs Norgrove and Mr Lee and the Estates team.
