Year 12 Team-Building

Year 12 and their tutors embarked on their team-building journey to Gilwern Outdoor Centre on a beautiful sunny day.  On arrival, we were greeted by a team of friendly and enthusiastic staff who very quickly got us all up on our feet and ready for action.

The aim of the day was to allow each tutor-group to learn how to work well as team and to learn more about one another’s strengths.  This was achieved by completing a variety of challenges which were mental, physical or both.  Each challenge could earn the team “Gilwern Pounds” which they could buy equipment to complete the final challenge.   Each tutor group bonded very quickly, trying to earn as much money as possible, with many girls rapidly learning new skills in order to succeed.

It was a fabulous day which gave girls and tutors a chance to step out of their comfort zone and show their skills as a team player, offer advice on how the team could achieve success, evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the group on each task and try to learn from each challenge in order achieve greater success on the next.
