HMSG were faced with the most difficult draw in the first round of the Presidents Cup netball tournament. With little self-doubt and in true HMSG netball style this didn't affect HMSG 1st team and the girls won convincingly. They even managing a 17-1 win in only 14 minutes against Llantarnam. The next round brought together the winners of each of the first groups. HMSG had a slow start in their first game against Rougemount, but brought it back in the second half to win with a decent margin. The next game was always going to be tough. All of the players from Crosskeys College play netball at at least county level, but many even higher. At half time HMSG were holding up with a draw. Unfortunately the strength of Crosskeys really showed in the second half, taking the win from HMSG. Although this meant the end of HMSG's progression in the tournament, they played outstandingly and then went on to beat Chepstow in their final game very convincingly. HMSG managed to equal last years result, hopefully next year we can go one further, but the girls played outstandingly against some schools with equally high standards of netball.
