HMSG takes part Monmouth’s 4th Santa Fun Run

On Sunday, 4th December, a number of students and staff from HMSG took part in the annual Santa Fun Run, organised by the Spirit of Monmouth Running Club. The 1.5 mile run was well supported and took runners through the historic streets of Monmouth in aid of local charities and the Army Benevolent Fund.  Luckily the route crossing Vauxhall Fields proved be a lot less slippery than last year’s sub-zero conditions.  There were some great performances from pupils in Years 7-9.  More importantly we also acquitted ourselves well in the fancy dress stakes with a great mix of Christmas outfits on display.

There was plenty of encouragement from parents, spectators and some slightly confused-looking tourists.  We all enjoyed running on ‘home turf’ in support of a great cause and it will undoubtedly be an event HMSG will continue to support in the future.  hank you to the Spirit of Monmouth Running Club and all those who made it such a fun morning.
