Ten Year 12 girls went to Cardiff University to attend a Science in Health Conference on Thursday 17th of March. We were given the opportunity to have tours of the Leukaemia Research Laboratory and also given a talk on how the animals used in research studies are housed and cared for. We were also lucky enough to attend a lecture on aspirin and its uses in preventing heart disease and cancer, which we all really enjoyed. We all learnt a lot and a thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all. We came away with lots of thoughts about how science is progressing and its many uses in health and medicine.
