Religious Studies - Staff

Mr John Lewis

Mr John Lewis has been Head of Religious Studies at HMSG since 1988.  He had previously worked in the state sector in London for seven years.  He holds an MPhil, MTh and BD from the University of Wales and took his PGCE at Carmarthen.  Since his arrival he has introduced GCSE and A level to the school and has consistently achieved high grades together with sustainable pupil take-up of the subject. 

Mr Arrand

Mr Tom Arrand joined HMSG in the spring of 2009.  He teaches Religious Studies to all key stages, specialising at A level (Philosophy and Ethics).  He holds an MA in Theology and Philosophy from Oxford University and took his PGCE at Cambridge.  His main areas of academic interest are Virtue Ethics, Political Philosophy and theistic proofs.

Dr Barnden

Dr S Barnden's degrees are in English Literature.  She has a diploma in Biblical and Theological Studies.  She teaches all the Religious Studies in Inglefield House and in the secondary part of the school she teaches Year 7.
