The following topics are studied in the first years.

Year 7 RS

A general introduction to the Bible, the testaments, and the books contained in them.  The various types of literature. The creation story. The story of Moses, his birth, his privileged position, the plagues, and the Exodus. The life, work, and teaching of Jesus culminating in Holy Week. Worship and prayer in three religions.

Year 8 RS

The following topics are studied under the theme of journeys.

Ancient beliefs, animism, animalism, polytheism, and monotheism. The story of Abraham and Isaac. Judaism, the Torah, synagogue, Passover, and Purim. The life of Mohammad and the main beliefs of Islam. The life of the Buddha and the main beliefs of Buddhism. The life of Mother Teresa.

Year 9 RS

Landmarks in Life is the main theme and also a study of Christians who sacrificed their life for certain principles.

Initiation rites, e.g. confirmation, Believers’ Baptism, Bar and Bat Mitzvah. Marriage customs in Judaism, Christianity, and Hinduism. The life and work of Martin Luther King. The life and work of Father Damien. Beliefs in life after death and funeral rituals. Pilgrimage sites eg Holy Land, Lourdes, Masada, Yad Vashem, etc.
