MS R PARRY - DIRECTOR OF DANCE
BA (Hons) Sports Studies (Bedford). PGCE Physical Education (Bedford).
Ms Parry’s background is in gymnastics and she has represented Wales in artistic gymnastics, and Wales and the South West of England in Rhythmic Gymnastics. She was also British Colleges champion in Sport Acrobatics.
Since joining HMSG as Head of Physical Education and Dance in 1996, Ms Parry has developed specialisms in dance and modern fitness disciplines. She is a Reebok City Jam instructor, a Community Dance Leader with the Laban Guild, she holds ISTD Advanced Level II Tap, and is an Associate Teacher (Freestyle and Modern Jazz) with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA ). Since June 2007, when Ms Parry gained for HMSG Approved Open College Network (NOCN - now Agored Cymru) centre staus, she has become Centre Internal Verifier and External Verifier for Performing Arts Courses in Wales.
Ms. Parry’s expertise and experience in dance has helped to give HMSG a unique, vibrant and nationally-renowned dance community. Dance is open to girls of all ages and abilities at HMSG and large numbers of girls use the discipline for self-expression, fitness and enjoyment.
MRS C CRAWFORD – HEAD OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Mrs Crawford is Head of Physical Education as well as being in charge of Lacrosse. She also assists with both Hockey and Netball teams. She teaches academic Physical Education to A Level.
Outside of school, she has represented Great Britain at gymnastics and Wales at both Swimming and Trampolining and has achieved county representation in many athletic events.
Mrs Crawford has competed in the New York City marathon and has a trek over The Great Wall of China planned for June 2011.
MRS C E JONES

Qualified teacher status through Graduate Teacher Programme (2003)
Mrs Jones teaches a wide range of sports on the curriculum and coaches a variety of teams during extra-curricular activities. She additionally teaches two modules on both the AS and A2 Physical Education courses.
Outside of school, she has a keen interest in triathlon, aquathlon and biathle and has represented Great Britain in all these sports. She won a gold medal in the 2007 World Triathlon Championships, a silver medal at the 2010 Aquathlon Championships, a silver medal at the 2006 World Biathle Championships as well as a bronze in the 2001 event.
MRS K CALLAGHAN
Mrs Callaghan has an honors degree in sports science and history, and was appointed Head of Rowing at HMSG in 2001. She teaches general PE for years 7 to 13 and GCSE PE. Prior to taking on the coaching role, Mrs Callaghan proved her own ability by coming 4th in the 1986 Commonwealth Games (lightweight rowing).
Outside of school, she is assistant team manger for the British J16 rowing team. Her many other sporting interests include swimming (ex-county squad) and marathon running.
Mrs Callaghan gives her personal aim as, 'To promote and encourage girls to fulfill their true sporting potential'.
MR J CHEESMAN.
BSc Hons. Physiological Science (Newcastle)
Mr Cheesman is the rowing coach and works alongside Mrs Callaghan to train the School’s top oarswomen to achieve national success at all levels, and to develop the talent from the junior year groups.
As the Welsh Rowing Team Manager , he is responsible for running the teams for the Commonwealth Rowing Championships and the Home Countries Match and has had additional responsibilities to coach the Great Britain Junior and U16 rowing crews.
Mr Cheesman sits on the Junior Rowing Commission, which is responsible for developing British junior rowing for the benefit of athletes at all levels, and the National Coaching Commission for British Rowing.
MRS R PAVEY

Mrs Pavey joined HMSG PE Department in September 2009 and is responsible for the development of classical dance training from Years 3 to 13.
Mrs Pavey began her dance training in the Bommer Dance Academy, Israel, where she was a member of the dance company, later completing her teaching qualification and becoming a full time faculty member. Mrs Pavey furthered her studies at the Rotterdam Dance Academy, Netherlands, graduating with a guest year student certificate and BA degree.
In January 2006, Mrs Pavey moved to South Wales and completed IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) teaching qualification and received a RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) mutually-recognised teacher status. She received a grant from the Sports Council for Community Dance and Fitness Projects throughout the Rhondda Valleys and started a dance department at the Burleigh Academy, Newport.
MS Z PRITCHARD

Ms Pritchard currently teaches ballet and tap lessons in Inglefield House and HMSG.
Ms Pritchard trained at the Bristol School of Dancing and Associated Arts where she studied Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap and National Dance. She graduated with teaching qualifications from the Royal Academy of Dancing and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Currently, she is studying for a degree in Dance Education with Surrey University.
Ms Pritchard began her professional career as a dancer and has completed contracts across Europe. Since then she has taught dance in many forms, owning her own ballet school for four years before going freelance to fit in with her family commitments. This included working in dance schools, nurseries, schools and community projects which earned her an Enterprise Award for the south west with the Prince's Trust.
MRS S ROSSITER
Honours degree: Sports & Exercise Science. PGCE in Physical Education.
Mrs Rossiter is in charge of Athletics and Cross Country, assists with the running of various sports team, and has taught both ‘A’ level and GCSE PE.
Mrs Rossiter has represented England in the long jump and she trains and coaches at the Forest of Dean Athletic Club. Mrs Rossiter also used to run 400 metres and she ran for Great Britain as a Junior.
Mrs Rossiter recently competed for England in the Long Jump in Budapest in a match against several other countries, including Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine and Austria. The England team won overall. Two days later she competed in Bratislava and finished 2nd out of 12. She then travelled to Vienna and finished 4th out of 12.

Mrs Harris has represented the South West at Hockey, Rugby and Cross Country. She also represented her university at Water polo, Hockey and Rugby.
A keen surfer, she has travelled the world, surfing in Australia, the south of France, the USA, Indonesia and Cornwall!
