This Sunday saw the world premier of the series of short films written, produced, directed and performed by a number of boys and girls who took part in this summer’s Monmouth Film School. For two weeks in the summer holidays they worked very hard to script and devise their pieces which were quite magical. From the eerie ‘Blair Witch’ homage ‘The Woods’, through to period drama ‘Michael’s War’; documentaries (‘Living in Monmouth’) and spoof-documentaries (‘Wales for Beginners’), there was something for everyone. The overall winner of best picture was, however, a piece which could not have worked in any other medium: the bizarre and hilarious ‘Gone’.

Well done to everyone who took part and thanks to Mrs Wragg who works so hard to make the Film School the success it is. Thanks also the Savoy theatre for hosting the premier.
