Last term Hannah, Pippa and Lizzie were selected to play Netball for the county (South East Wales). This wonderful achievement came half way through what is proving to be a highly successful season for the senior netballers as they prepare for their tour to South Africa in the Autumn.
Following this, Lizzie was selected to train with the Wales U19 squad, giving up many weekends and working hard on her fitness in the process. Lizzie writes:
“I spent February half term at the Welsh Institute of Sport with the Welsh squad trialling for the top 12 to go to European Championships. It was a gruelling week which included Boxing, running, drills and many ice baths. I got a lot out of the week as I was being taught by top coaches; it was a lot of hard work but it all paid off when I was selected for the Netball Europe squad. The U19 Netball Europe Championships will be held in Deeside Leisure Centre being hosted by Welsh Netball on the 12th March, I’m very excited to be taking part and I’m sure it will be a great experience to represent my country.”
