HMSG raises over £1,300 for Children’s Cancer Charity

The Year 13 Young Enterprise group at HMSG has raised £1,306.31 for LATCH, a children’s cancer charity based in Cardiff.

The group, One Step at a Time, raised money by creating a networking booklet for parents and local businesses, and by selling roses on Valentine’s Day.  The girls were delighted that their hard work over the past year could go towards such a worthwhile cause.

Tony Curtis and Howard Greenhaf from LATCH visited HMSG to formally accept the cheque from One Step at a Time.

Tony Curtis, Trustee & Chair of the LATCH Business Board said, “We are very pleased to accept this donation on behalf of LATCH and would like to thank the girls for all their hard work.  LATCH is such a worthwhile charity which helps many families in Wales affected by childhood cancer, and this donation will make a big difference to these families.”

Emily, Deputy Head Girl and Managing Director of One Step at a Time said, “Young Enterprise is a fantastic way of gaining insight into the business world and working as part of a team.  Maintaining the strong links already established between HMSG and LATCH, we decided to donate all of our profits to this charity, to help make a difference to those less fortunate than ourselves.”

LATCH is a voluntary organisation set up to support the special requirements of the children's oncology centre in Wales, based at the Children's Hospital for Wales to help affected families and promote research in childhood cancer.
