The Head Prefects for the 2010-2011 academic year at HMSG have now been selected. Laura is our new Head Girl and will be supported by her three deputies, Georgina, Sarah and Robyn.
Head Girl, Laura, is studying Religious Studies, English and Drama for her A levels and has a keen interest in the performing arts. As a budding actress, she has already captured audiences’ imaginations with her lead roles in Annie, Pink Champagne and South Pacific. She is currently choreographing and starring in 'The Wedding Singer' in Ross-on-Wye. Laura is hoping to continue her love of the Arts by studying musical theatre or English in London.
Deputy Head Girl, Robyn, is also interested in dance and gymnastics, having performed in Annie, Pink Champagne and the Hope for Haiti concert. Robyn is also a committed member of a local gymnastics group, with whom she is competing in London next year. She is studying Economics, Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry at A level and hopes to read chemistry at Durham University.
Georgina is studying Sport Science, Drama and French at A Level and is very sports-orientated. As captain of the 1st XII lacrosse team, Georgina encourages her team to make the most of their potential. In addition to lacrosse, Georgina competes in athletics, netball and running and, unsurprisingly, is keen to study Sport Management at university.
Vice Captain of the 1st XII Lacrosse team and fellow Deputy Head Girl, Sarah, also represents the school at cross country, is working towards her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and is a member of the Combined Cadet Force. Sarah is studying English Literature, Classical Civilisation and Art, with the hope of studying Philosophy and Politics at Durham University. Sarah then hopes to pursue a career in the Army.
Headmistress, Mrs Helen Davy, said: "This new team has many exciting initiatives for the pupil body. Their enthusiasm and charm is infectious and together they fulfil the ideals of the Olympic motto - Citius, Altius, Fortius - swifter, higher, stronger.”
