16+ Entry

There are two routes of entry into the Sixth Form.

For scholarship applicants, girls are required to sit written entrance papers, consisting of two papers taken from the subjects of preferred A level choice, together with a general paper.

For usual Sixth Form entry, girls should submit a letter of application at the time of registration and will be invited to attend an interview with Mrs Davy, Headmistress, and Mrs MacDonald, Director of Sixth Form.  A conditional offer may then be made based on the outcome of this interview and subject to achieving at least six GCSE passes (grades A* to B) to include English and mathematics, but preferably A* or A grades in the subjects they are going to take at A level, although each student’s individual profile will be assessed.

If a candidate is unable to attend for interview, the written entrance papers route will apply.

In both cases a private and confidential report from the present Headteacher will be requested prior to either interview or written assessment.
