We recognise that Year 9 is a key transition for pupils as the girls gear up to make GCSE option choices. There is usually a large entry into Year 9, from regional prep schools and expats, with a maximum of 25 places available for day or boarding.

Each pupil will be fully supported by her Form Tutor throughout Year 9, and, in particular, during her first few weeks. There is a full induction programme in place to ensure that girls integrate and settle quickly. In order to monitor your daughter's progress she will receive internal grades from subject teachers prior to October half term, at which point the Head of Year will also meet her to discuss how she is settling in.

With support and encouragement, we hope each girl will seize every opportunity that a school like HMSG offers. It is a time when girls can develop their sporting, musical, or artistic skills and there are numerous extra-curricular activities to nurture and enhance their potential.
