Emily in the Dragons' Den

Oarsome Potential

Former pupil Emily Webb, currently studying Business Management at Exeter University, faced a tough challenge this week on BBC2’s Dragons' Den.  Emily faced the Dragons in a bid to secure further funding for her rowing handle.

Emily, who rowed for Wales as a schoolgirl, developed the first prototype as part of her GCSE Design & Technology project at HMSG.  Oarsome Potential™ is an ergonomically-designed rowing handle which not only reduces tendonitis, Repetitive Strain Injury and blisters, but also improves overall performance.

In 2007 Emily was nominated for the Young Enterprise Wales Young Achiever Award, and has won awards for her invention at the British Invention Show and the British Female Inventors and Innovators Network Awards.  Oarsome Potential™ is patented in five countries and also won the gold and platinum Prize of Geneva awards for leisure.
