HMSG 3 Peaks Challenge 2011

On Sunday 14 girls tackled the local 3 Peaks Challenge – the Blorrenge, Sugar Loaf and Skirridd.  This was to be the first training event designed to select a team to tackle the HMSG UK 3 Peaks Challenge (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) in May while raising money for 3 important Service Charities Help For Heroes, the Army Benevolent Fund and the Soldiers’ Sailors, Airmen and Families’ Association.
From 8am to 5pm girls walked and climbed, singing all the way, covering 22 miles in the process.  Exhausting though it was, it is nothing compared to the climbing and driving that will take us up and down the highest peaks in Scotland, Wales and England in May.
The day was truly one of friendship, teamwork and motivation with a lot of fun along the way. A special thanks to parents who joined in and shared the journey with us and our 4 staff leaders, without whom we could not be completing this challenge. However, let us not forget the reason for this challenge:  Soldiers risk their lives and we want to give something to back to them. Thank you.   Rhiannon (Y13)
