Jo Salter, Britain's first fighter pilot, came to speak at Monmouth Women's Festival this week on the subject, 'Women can be fighter pilots too'. On Monday afternoon she ran a workshop at Monmouth Comprehensive School for 21 girls including 10 from Year 9 at HMSG. The girls carried out team-building activities, followed by group work; each team designed an animal or structure on paper and then passed on their instructions to another team, who had to build the object. Later, Jo explained how she became a fighter pilot and gave the girls careers advice.
