With the excitement of what promises to be the closest General Election in a generation mounting, the Prefects at HMSG organised a mock election for all girls in Years 7-13 to participate in. Hustings were held in main school assembly on Wednesday where prefects representing the four main parties in Wales summarised the manifesto pledges of their chosen party. Girls then voted throughout the day and the votes were counted under secure conditions. A healthy turn-out of 81% yielded the following results:![]() The day definitely had an atmosphere of enthusiasm and anticipation with the national elections so close and an extra dimension was added to the, already busy, HMSG school day. The Prefects certainly had great fun wearing coloured rosettes and campaigning throughout the corridors of the school. Who knows, we may have another, future, female, PM amongst us! |
