After a successful start to the season, the cross-country club were delighted to learn that no fewer than 14 girls were selected to represent the County and run for South East Wales Schools in the Lent Term. On Sunday 16th January, 11 of the HMSG County runners braved muddy fields, challenging terrain and torrential rain to take part in the Cardiff X-Challenge. All races contained a high-calibre field of competitors who compete at national levels and so all girls did extremely well to finish in their overall positions.
The girls will now take the experience from their first major event and use it to prepare for the Welsh Schools Cross-Country and national trials in March. Well done and good luck.
