Destination of Leavers
During their time in the sixth form, pupils receive individual careers guidance, as well as taking part in a comprehensive careers education programme. Since the vast majority of our sixth formers go on to undertake degree courses, much of the advice is focused on making good decisions about higher education.

Our careers team consists of Mrs Johnson, Careers Advisor who is assisted by sixth form tutors and staff, who have built up specialist knowledge in particular areas, including Oxbridge. The Careers Department supports students throughout the UCAS process including subject and university selection, the application process, through to selecting a firm and insurance choice.
Careers & Higher Education Resources
Pupils have open access to the Careers Library with its wealth of paper-based resources and internet access which provides relevant information on higher education, gap years and specific careers.
The Careers Education Programme
Topics include work experience and community work, CV writing, researching degree courses, the UCAS applications system, life as a student, overseas universities, gap year opportunities and skills for employment. Interview techniques, mock interviews and preparation for student life all form part of the programme.
Workshops on various career areas, with visiting speakers, are arranged. Sixth formers are also encouraged to participate in careers experience courses which are organised by ISCO and other bodies, mainly in the school holidays.
In the summer term of Year 12 a series of UCAS Days and university open days are organised to help students inform their university decision-making. An annual Careers Convention is also organised jointly with Monmouth School.
Our aim is to help the students find the right course at the right university or college for them and to aid them in their development of skills for the future.
