1st VII undefeated on recent netball tour

February 1, 2017

Last weekend, the 1st and 2nd netball teams embarked on a mini tour, starting with matches against Cheltenham Ladies College and Dean Close School on the Saturday.  These matches were always going to hard fought and closely contested, but the 1st team came away as winners in both games, 20-12 and 20-15 respectively.  The 2nd team, despite consistent determination lost both fixtures, but took away a number of tactics and strategies to be adopted the following day.

A quick journey down the M5 saw the teams arrive at the Premier Inn East, Taunton and after dinner courtesy of the Whitelodge Beefeater, and some in-between courses entertainment from Mrs Kinman, it was on to Hollywood Bowl.  Never shy of being competitive, scores were kept and the eventual top scorer and title of “Star Bowler” went to Izzy.

King’s College, Taunton was the destination for a tournament the following day, with both teams playing 4 matches.  The 1st played some fantastic netball and were never shy of determination, beating King’s College, Taunton 1st and 2nd VII; Queen’s Taunton 1st VII and HMSG 2nd VII to remain undefeated for the whole weekend.

There was some much improved play for the 2nd VII and although the results did not quite fall their way, there was some closely fought matches.

Every player received an award, courtesy of Mrs Kinman for an exhausting but fantastic weekend.  Well played!
